I just wanted to share a few images from an impromptu mother-daughter photo session I did with my friend Rhema and her daughter Scarlett on Friday! We met up for coffee that morning and with the impending snow storm decided to take some photos in front of a lovely blooming, pink crab apple tree, while we still had some decent weather.
By the time we made it to this tree it started lightly raining, so we weren't able to photograph for very long. It was still totally worth it, and I love the images we created in the 10 minutes we had! I don't have children yet, but I can only imagine how much it will mean to me to have photos taken with them someday. I know how much Rhema treasures every moment captured in camera with Scarlett.
I love these photos of Rhema snuggling up with Scarlett, and giving her kisses. She is such a wonderful Mom.
I purchased a 135mm lens a few months ago, and find myself wanting to photograph with it more than any other lens I have ever had. It is by far my favorite portrait lens because the photos I can create with it are so sharp, and make the background so rich with compression. I love that buttery-bokeh look. So yummy. I'm making myself hungry to go out and find something inspiring to photograph right now just talking about it.
If you are thinking about having your family portraits taken this Spring it's the perfect time to get them scheduled! I still have some availability for May and June. I can't think of a better gift to give to your wife, or daughter for Mother's Day!
