On June 8th, 2013 I had the great pleasure of photographing a wedding for Laura and Chris at Sylvan Dale Guest Ranch in Loveland, CO.  It was the perfect day for a wedding, the temperature was just right, it was sunny, and the Big Thompson River was flowing by high, in all of it's magnificent glory.  Growing up in Colorado, I have always been able to be in the mountains doing fun things like hiking, camping, and hanging out at the lake.  I've never lived more than 30 minutes from the mountains, and although they've always been there, I never find myself growing tired of them.

When I arrived at Laura and Chris's wedding I was instantly floored.  It was a photographer's dream.  When I looked around everything was in bloom, the grass was green, the trees were full with leaves, and there was even some fresh moss growing on the rocks near the river. Laura's bouquet done by Rowe's Flowers and Gifts in Loveland, CO had a very natural, wildflower look that fit in just perfectly with the scenery.  I also have to say that I loved Sylvan Dale's Staff!  Here's a little shout out to Alainna and Hannah who were Laura and Chris's wedding coordinators!  You two were so fun and easy to work with, not to mention you kept everything moving, and made everything happen as planned!

Chris and Laura decided to do their portraits together before the ceremony so I set things up in such a way that I had the camera, and was in position, ready for the moment Chris set his eyes on Laura.  When she came out and stood in front of him I told him he could open his eyes and seconds later his eyes lit up, and a smile flashed across his face.  This couple is so in love, that for a moment I almost forgot that I was in their presence, and even a few of their friends and family.  It was one of those magical moments you read about in a fairytale.

Laura and Chris had a beautiful ceremony that included several different friends of theirs who are musicians, and shared a very passionate kiss after they were announced husband and wife.

After Laura, Chris and their guests ate a delicious dinner by Catering by Victoria out of my very own Windsor, CO everyone ate some delicious wedding pie.  I even indulged myself and had a slice of cherry pie.  The best cherry pie I have ever tasted! Props to you Victoria!

Little did I know that music is very central to the life they share.  Their reception followed with a fantastic band called Halden Wofford & The Hi Beams.  The surprise for me was when Chris jumped up there and started playing guitar and doing lead vocals!  I had no clue he was a musician!  I guess I should have put two and two together when they told me that they met when Laura went in for a guitar lesson and her teacher was Chris.

Anyways, I heard some wonderful toasts given by family and friends that night, and  I had not seen a party that lasted that long and strong at a wedding for a long time.  Laura, Chris and their guests had a GREAT time!  I'm so glad I got to be a part of their day.  Congrats you two!
